Haworth - The Brönte Sisters' Home

The International Society at YSJ still organises trips to different attractions around York, and in March I signed up for a trip to Haworth to see the Brönte sisters' home. Ahmed, Lauren and Lindsey came along too, and we had a really great day!

We had a stop in Bradford on the way to see the National Media Museum. It was interesting to drive through Bradford because it is such a different type of city! You can really see that it is multicultural from looking at the different shops but also the people walking through the streets. The Media Museum had a really good exhibiton of portraits by two Swedes as well as some landscapes by an English photographer. The history of cameras was also very interesting to see.

After Bradford we drove through a wonderful landscape until we came to the little village of Haworth. What a wonderful little place!! The Brönte Parsonage was a small, but very interesting museum and in the end we spent too much time there to be able to have a proper walk around the moors. In stead we had a lovely meal at a small French cafe, and I just have to say, the cakes - WOW!
