17th of May

Another Norwegian National Day celebrated abroad! This year I spent it in the company of several other Norwegians, having champagne and strawberries in the park, singing Norwegian songs. It's incredible how nationalistic you become when you're abroad! On our repetoir yesterday was both Fagert er landet, Fedrelandssongen, Nordlandssalmen and Norge i Rødt, Kvitt og Blått, amongst others.

In the afternoon we went to Fulford Arms which is run by a Norwegian and her English boyfriend. There they had cakes and a barbeque, a Norwegian quiz and of course "potetløp"!

It was a lovely day, not unlike a Norwegian 17th of May with varying weather; 16-17 degrees celsius, sunshine and a couple of showers!

Det høyrest ut som ein fin 17. mai! Vêret her i Bergen var ganske likt, men litt kaldare. I dag har eg gnagsår, men kan tenke tilbake på ein flott dag.

Uffadå! Gnagsår har ikkje eg, men kan hende eg kan få det til neste år viss eg får brukt bunaden då!
