Here we go again..in more than one sense!

I have a feeling everyone has given up on following this blog because it's updated so irregularly, but I'm willing to give it one last go! Not that I think I'll have any more time to update this semester as I'm doing two modules as well as trying to finish my dissertation, but I'll try! One last time..and then I guess I'll have to admit that blogging isn't my thing...

So I'm back in York for my second semester of my MA TESOL. From what my former classmates have told me it's going to be a busy one, so that's why I'm back so early to get a headstart on the reading (or shall we rather say to catch up on the transcription that I was supposed to do over the summer..?). York is as nice as it's always been, although extremely crowded with all the tourists. An interesting fact: York is the second most visited city in the UK, and it shows! Yesterday the races were on too, so it was packed! People tumbling about on their high heels (or just as often tip-toing around with their high heels in their hands) wearing everything from what looks like a dried fruit to a dead animal on their heads. We had a discussion in a pub the other day about whether this is posh or tacky, without really agreeing on one word to describe it, but agreeing that in most cases whatever they are attempting to do/look like fails miserably. The men in suit on the other hand are very classy...

Today the weather has been amazing and I've had shorts on for the 3rd(?) time this summer. It's wonderful being able to sit outside working; drinking coffee and eating lemon meringue pie in just shorts and t-shirt at 8pm! Btw, a warning to all potential readers: there's a high chance that this blog will be evolving around my slowly progressing transcription for the next few weeks.. You're hearby warned, and with that being said I can happily announce that I've done approximately 23 seconds today!
